SIGS Men's teams have Levels 3 - 10 and compete with our club as members of USA Gymnastics. Team members compete as young as age 5 and can be on a team through high school.
Men's team members use specialized equipment, including the six apparatus used in men's gymnastics competition: floor exercise, pommel horse, still rings, vault, parallel bars, and horizontal bar. Instruction includes
The program practices at least twice a week, with upper levels attending practice as many as five times each week. Practice duration is from 90 minutes to 2.5 hours each set, again depending on ages and level.
All GYM STAR BOYS level recreational classes have been invited to work out with team members for evaluation and to experience our team atmosphere. There are also a limited number of OPEN TRYOUT spots available for an evaluation by our Men's Team Director on Sunday, April 11.
Our Men's Teams are directed and coached by Tim Saxton, a former collegiate athlete for The Ohio State University. Tim also serves as the Indiana State Chair for Region 5 and has been a Region Director for our five-state membership (Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan) in USA Gymnastics.
