CONSISTENCY EARNS PLATINUM TEAM 3RD AT KENTUCKY CLASSIC
The Platinum team’s consistent performances earned them a third-place team finish at the KY Classic. The team posted the second-best mark on the vault, bars and floor at the competition.
Earning a 28.225, the team’s strongest event came on the floor where three athletes posted scores of 9.40 or higher. McKenna Stewart led the way with a 9.425 earning gold while Adalyn Delaney and Arielle Phillips took a share of the bronze with a 9.40-mark.
Averaging above a nine on vault and bars, Ava Spurgeon contributed on each event with scores of 9.30 and 9.175, respectively. Stewart (9.350) and Elena Edmiston (9.10) rounded out the vault while Sara Miler (9.250) and Phillips (8.950) contributed to the bars.
In the all-around, Miller took home a bronze medal for her total of 36.125 while Stewart just reached the 36.0 mark, the second-best score for the team.
