The Level 7s competed at the Kentucky Winter Classic (KY Classic) hosted in Louisville, KY to open their travel season where they achieved a team victory up against tough competition. Laila Gilbert was the top-scorer for the team, taking home the all-around gold with a 37.050.

The team’s best performance came on the floor scoring just shine of a 29.0 with a 28.875. Gabbie Forbis led the team with a huge 9.80 earning herself a gold medal. Each gymnast earned 9.0 or higher marks on the event with Ari Bordenkircher and Cali Kruer contributing the team total with a 9.625 and 9.550, respectively.

On the beam, all of the six team members earned Beam Queen status by earning marks above a 9.0. Gilbert lead the team with a 9.375 placing first, followed by Forbis (9.350) and Jillian Vogt (9.250) who took second and third, respectively.

Opening the competition on bars, the team came out strong posting the meet’s second-best performance with a 27.70. Forbis earned the top mark for the team with a 9.275 placing second, followed by Bordenkircher (9.225) and Stella Klaus (9.20) who each took home the bronze in their age division.

Gilbert earned a first-place finish on vault (9.250) in route to her all-around win with a 37.050. Forbis also took home gold in the AA with a 36.825. Klaus placed second (36.30) and Bordenkircher earned third (36.40).

The team tallied a season-best 111.60 to win the Level 7 competition.
